I’m Neil a professional live event and creative photographer based in Cardiff. South Wales UK.
My practice comprises two main areas presently, one which is commercial and one that which has no basis in financial gain unless sold separately in a gallery.
I love the unique properties of live performance that is the direct interaction between performer and viewer. Performance is process in the making, they are fluid and always changing. I find it personally and technically challenging to capture the essence of the performers art. Often there being no room for error or the luxury of a second chance to capture the moment.
With my creative practice I have been making work which explores the interrelationship between the landscape and the individual. I seek to create images that take the viewer on a journey, tell a story and take them to another place. This can be a personal journey or how others fit into the landscape on a human scale. The landscape becomes my studio, forming a backdrop to contextualise the work.
I am a PGCE trained lecturer and am quite happy to give relevant talks to groups.
